Manufactured in a robust but lightweight and fully recyclable Polypropylene copolymer with thermoplastic elastomer , the blend produces a product with the correct stiffness and elongation for this application and the material has a vast working temperature range of -40°C to +120°C whilst being UV stable, with a high resistance to all kinds of common cleaning chemicals
The enclosed dome also acts to prevent the ingress of dirt and extraneous matter into the thread of the wheel nut and stud, also protecting it from external damage, making wheel removal and replacement easier and more accurate, improving the overall cosmetic appearance of the vehicle, and safeguarding pedestrians and ground operatives from protruding nuts and studs on rotating wheels
The Wheel Nut Retaining Ring is fitted by means of a rubber or plastic hammer to facilitate the deformation of the splines within the dome around the hex of the wheel nut, gripping it tightly and preventing movement, and then carefully removed with the use of a proprietary pry bar, or any suitable tool, taking care not to damage the connecting brace between domes.
