Included in the check is the requirement for drivers to declare they are 'fit to drive' along with Pre-configured monthly reminders around compliance issues such as speeding, loading and distraction.
The Pre-Use check itself is easily configurable by the operator allowing the addition of specialist items, for example towing equipment, as well as the development of bespoke checks to cover such as welfare vehicles.

GB Domestic Hours Rules Check
The GB Domestic Hours Rules Check is an App extension designed to provide operators of vehicles running under the GB Domestic Hours Rules, to provide drivers with an indication of whether their drivers could have infringed the hours requirements. Please note this is not suitable for vehicles over 3.5t.
This App extension is designed to provide operators of vehicles running under the GB Domestic Hours Rules with an indication of whether their drivers could have infringed the hours requirements.
The function is dependent on the driver completing the Van Excellence Pre-Use Check App at the start of their working day and the End of Shift report at the end of their working day. The function calculates the length of the driver’s working day by measuring the period of time between the driver starting the Pre-Use Check App and submitting the End of Shift report.
If the calculated period is no more than 10 hours, the driver couldn’t have contravened the GB Domestic Hours Rules.
If greater than 10 hours but not exceeding 11 hours, there may have been a contravention of the 10-hour driving limit and the driver will be asked to confirm they didn’t drive for more than 10 hours.
If greater than 11 hours, there is a potential that the driver has contravened the 11-hour duty limit and/or the 10 hour driving limit. The operator will be alerted to this and it is suggested further analysis will be required.
Note: if the vehicle being driven is Operator Licenced then this App and functionality do not replace the requirement to record hours and duty time as required by law.

How do I get the Van Excellence Defect App?

How long does it take to complete the Van Excellence Defect App?
Checksheets are customisable depending on the level of detail required for the asset type. We anticipate it should take between 3-5 minutes to complete an effective Pre-Use check.
Does the App keep a record of completed inspectionson the smart device?
Yes, the app will retain previously completed check sheetsand accident forms.
What happens if I sell my vehicle?
You can add / remove both drivers and vehicles via the onlineapp portal.
Will the system alert me to any defects found by the drivers?
Yes email notifications can be sent either to pre-determined email address or directly to the drivers line manage to action.
Can you report defects on route?
Yes, simply open the app and complete the check sheet.
What if there is no phone or Wifi signal?
You will require signal or wifi the first time you open the app and sign in. If no signal is available on subsequent days when opening the app you can still open the app, sign in to complete your daily check. The appwill send / transmit the completed checksheet when signal becomes available.
Can I run daily, weekly or monthly reports from the system?
Yes, there is a comprehensive suite of reports available via the online portal. Reports can also be exported to CSV format to import into an FMS system.
Can the system tell me who has not carried out a Van Excellence Defect App?
Yes there is a simple report to highlight this.
Can you record mileage/fuel and location?
Yes you can record mileage in KM or miles and record fuel levels. If you are using a device with GPS then the location of the vehicle at the time of the check being completed will be recorded.
