Once connected and switched on, using the toggle switches, the TrailerCheck unit can turn each trailer light on or off as required. Circuits tested include the indicators, side and number plate lights, side repeater lights, fog, reverse and brake lights. Also included is a single-man auto light test facility, which gives the technician enough time to walk to the rear of the trailer before the lights are automatically illuminated one at a time and in a preset order to identify any bulb failures. Lights are illuminated for approximately 10 seconds each to allow time to check each light, and the entire automated light test takes around 1 minute to complete. The included ISO 7638 lead allows the trailer’s ABS circuitry to be activated and checked for continuity. Should there be a fault within the ABS system the ABS warning light on the TrailerCheck fascia panel will come on. At this point the SensorCheck would be used to identify any sensor related faults. Activity on the CAN high and low lines can also be checked. Power is provided to the trailer via either the 24S / 24N or ISO 7638 sockets, with all necessary electrical leads supplied with the kit. The TrailerCheck can be charged from the mains (cable supplied) in under two hours.

Combining the DVSA-approved BrakeCheck Standard, infrared printer and custom protective carry case, this complete solution is ideal for workshops, fleet operators, roadside inspections and vehicle maintenance facilities. The BrakeCheck Standard is a portable brake tester suitable for cars, vans, HGVs, PSVs, motorcycles, trikes and ATVs. It measures service brake, hand brake and secondary brake efficiency by recording vehicle deceleration from approximately 20 mph to a standstill. The unit also identifies left and right braking imbalance, helping operators quickly assess vehicle braking performance. With a built-in memory capable of storing up to 99 test results, the BrakeCheck allows multiple vehicles to be tested without downloading data between inspections. Results can be viewed on the integrated LED display, printed instantly using the included infrared printer, or downloaded to a PC for DVSA reporting requirements. The SensorCheck is a handheld EBS / ABS sensor and exciter ring tester, for use on trucks, trailers, and buses. Conventional wisdom has it that problems with EBS / ABS systems fitted to trucks, trailers and buses, are best diagnosed via the vehicle’s Electronic Control Unit (also known as the ECU). However, since 80% of all EBS / ABS problems are sensor related 1, by connecting directly to the sensor socket for each wheel rather than to the ECU you are, in effect, taking the quickest and most direct route by going straight to the heart of the problem. Lightweight and portable, the SensorCheck is supplied with a 1.6m high quality cable and a separate “crocodile clip” universal adapter for those applications where the standard lead’s termination is not applicable. A short introductory printed manual and a single 9V PP3 battery are also included. The SensorCheck comes ready to use straight out of the box. Designed with ease of use in mind, the SensorCheck takes minutes to set-up and, once connected, undertakes a complete test cycle of the six most common causes of EBS / ABS faults, at the touch of a button, in just 15 seconds – a fraction of the time it would take to perform the same tests manually – and all without having to remove the road wheel.
